week five update: #operationnomorefattyboop

Some days I can hardly believe it’s been five weeks since I embarked on this weight loss journey. Other days, I feel like it’s been five years - can I please have a handful of freshly baked chocolate chip cookies now? Yes, yes I think I will - one for each week is acceptable, right? Maybe I’ll count it as dinner.  Ha. 

Highlights from the week: 

Things I Learned: That I like the way working out makes me feel in general. I feel more energized and much more limber. I feel lighter, instead of the blob I felt like before. And I’m toning up. I also learned that it’s much harder to run in the heat of the day than at dusk. 

Workout Days Completed: Three. I was able to do all three 5K workouts this week for a total of 5.65 miles. 

Days Over 10,000 Steps: Four. I was super close to having five!

Little Victories: completed week four of the 5K Runner plan which means I am basically half way to a 5K. I am really kinda proud. I exercised serious will power in the face of stress at work this week and said no to donuts, homemade cinnamon rolls, and pizza. 

Regrets: I know I’m not chugging enough water. Instead I’m relying on Diet Mt. Dew and Diet Dr. Pepper. I’ve also started snacking again in the afternoons.

Weight Lost: 3.2 lbs for a total loss of 11.7 lbs.

Next Week’s Focus: Eliminating that afternoon snack... again. I also need to drink more water and kick the diet sodas to the curb. I want to keep moving. It’s going to be another scorcher this week, and that makes it super tempting to skip running.

Photos from the Week: I’m such a slacker. I seriously have zero photos from the week. I’ll have to work on that this week.

  1. Water is really hard for me as well. I’d much rather drink Diet Coke or Starbucks! ;)

  2. Water, water, water...I need more too! Your lost lb’s are racking up! You go girl!!!

  3. Working out and drinking water are my strengths. Eating is my weakness. I tend to overindulge and have a major sweet tooth. Today is the day I have said I need to buckle down again.

  4. The only way I can make myself drink water is to add some kind of flavor packet and that makes it easier.

  5. Good for you! 10,000 steps for four days is impressive- very inspirational :)
