Need a patriotic dessert on the fly? I have the perfect recipe for you - IF you can even call it a recipe.
We were headed to a family reunion on Saturday. I wanted to take a dessert and my prep time was non-existent. I decided break and bake cookies would be easy and the kids would love them. I had planned to grab a few dozen chocolate chip but then spotted these sugar cookies. I must have been feeling a little inspired by Mel at The Larson Lingo because it occurred to me that I could grab a patriotic bag of M&Ms and top the sugar cookies with those.
So, ingredients? All you really need is a package of Pillsbury Sugar Cookies and a bag of Red, White & Blue M&Ms.
I placed the cookies on the cookie sheet and then placed the M&M's on top. I put one in each corner and then one in the middle. The middle one basically sat on the others. I then cooked in the oven as directed on the package and voila!
Seriously, the cookies were a hit and the longest part was waiting on them to cook. That's what I call the easiest patriotic cookies ever.
I hope you and your family have an amazing 4th of July. God Bless the USA!
