week six update

Friends, another week is in the books and I am thrilled to report that I am 14 pounds lighter than I was six weeks ago. I may or may not have had a small stomach bug one day this week that counteracted all of the sugary treats I had the evening before, but I'm okay with that... I think. Reminds me of one of my favorite lines from The Devil Wears Prada?


Highlights from the week: 

Things I Learned: Remember that bug I mentioned? I've learned that my body has developed an anti-sugar gene. Anytime I decide to splurge or have a cheat day, I pay for it with stomach issues. I also discovered the Steak Fajita Wrap at Tim Horton's. As long as I don't cave to the Warm Kettle Chips, this is a smart lunch option on days when I couldn't pack my lunch - and it's delicious. Have you tried Chik-fil-A's grilled chicken nuggets. The calorie content is basically nothing. I could eat twenty-four of these I think - twelve wasn't enough. So yummy.

Workout Days Completed: Two 5K Runner workouts this week for a total of 3.83 miles. I had hoped to do three, but weather and life happened.

Days Over 10,000 Steps: Four. I set my all time record with 16,092 steps on Saturday!

Little Victories:  My clothes are getting too big. I've actually sized down in tops and am super close in pants. That, my friends, feels soooo good. The 5K Runner lady is really making me stretch my rubber band. She expected me to run for an 8 minute stretch one day, twice... and I did it! I'm jogging really slow but once I can run the full stretch, I plan to focus on moving a little faster.

Regrets: I vacated on Friday and decided to splurge on Tim Horton's breakfast. I ordered the Grilled Breakfast Wrap and a Hot Chocolate. Neither were worth what they cost me calorie wise. Okay, maybe the hot chocolate was.

Weight Lost: 2.4 lbs for a total loss of 14.1 lbs.

Next Week’s Focus: Keep snacking to a minimum. Try new recipes. Complete all three 5K workouts.

  1. That's amazing!! I am all about a lil stomach bug to help but not happy about how it feels in the moment..haha Those nuggets look great, I forget about them. I am 5 weeks in and at about a 9lb loss. I love when my clothes get loose, then I can feel the difference! To reach my goal I need another 5-6lbs loss. It appears if I eat most of my food for breakfast and lunch then go really light for dinner that's when I make progress.

  3. That's awesome! I am not sugar friendly either - it can't be too bad a thing though - it is soooo bad on every front - I bet you feel a huge benefit to your general health with less of it :) Your food for the week looks delicious! Joanne x
