school supply bliss, baby steps, and funny things kids say

Happy Friday, Friends! I do have a few favorites I want to share, but sadly I have little to no visuals.

The highlight of the week was our annual school supply shopping trip. This will be the third year I have vacated from work and taken my Oldest Little Farmer to Office Depot - where there are notebooks and pencils galore, fun items we love but will never use. and gadgets we can’t resist. It is seriously one of my favorite days of the year.

My Oldest Little Farmer has decided to try his hand at football. Conditioning was scheduled for every week day except Wednesday this week. Monday - I sat in the car with three kids waiting for someone to cancel practice while lightning and rain poured all around us. After 45 minutes, someone finally said go home. On Tuesday, I was walking the track during practice and a storm showed up. I got soaked and pelted with hail as I ran as fast I could to the car while pushing a stroller. Thursday we missed because of the open house at school. Just maybe, he’ll get to practice today.

Our Littlest Farmer is starting to take steps! He’ll take two or three at a time, stop and then go again. He’s looking to walk about a month before the other two did. I’m guessing it’s so he can keep up with them!

If you’ve been reading for any amount of time, you know I’m on a mission - #operationnomorefattyboop. If you’d like to check out my hangry and struggling to breathe while exercising update from week one, you can do so here

One favorite from the week is our new stationary bike. A family member passed it along to us. My Middle and Oldest Farmers love it and fight over it constantly. I’m excited to use it on rain days or days my knees are hurting. I do wish it counted steps though. Thank you, Quiltylady!

A not so favorite is that my WiFi driver in my laptop disappeared. My computer doesn’t even acknowledge WiFi networks exist. How do I fix that?

Another not so favorite is that my Oldest Little Farmer has a cavity. Thankfully it’s on a baby tooth, but he still has to have it filled since it’ll be a few years before he loses that tooth and the cavity is nestled up against a permanent one. The favorite is that Middle Little Farmer made it successfully through his first dental cleaning without screaming bloody murder or crying hysterically.

My two older Little Farmers tried to do the 5k runner workout with me the other day. At the start of the second run, my middle Little Farmer said he was going to the house, that he didn’t have the energy for this! Ha.

On our way to the elementary school's open house, I told my older Little Farmer that he looked good in his new shirt and khaki shorts. He looked at me with a straight face and said "I know, I looked in the mirror." Haha!!!

Well Friends, I’m very much ready for the weekend. We’ve got a little fun planned but I honestly just hope to get some down time. Happy Weekends to you!

  1. We are going to start our back-to-school shopping this weekend. My daughter LOVES picking out new school supplies. My kids don't go back until September though so we are trying to enjoy our last few weeks of summer. Congrats on the littlest one starting to walk. It's always a huge and exciting milestone! I haven't been great with the exercising this week. I seriously HATE running and am not motivated by the Couch to 5K (which a friend has done and enjoyed). But just with diet changes I'm already feeling better. So, hopefully a gym trip or two will happen this week! Have a great weekend!

  4. Glad you are getting some use out of the bike. It was doing no one any good in my garage. I’m with the Middle Farmer; too much energy needed.
I love going to Office Max and Office Depot! I shopped last week there. I went after poly mailing bags and came out with three bags of “must haves”. Some I will add to Christmas shoe boxes.
