the countdown is on

I have seventeen days left until my maternity leave comes to an end. I know that I am blessed beyond all measure to have been able to stay home for as long as I have, but it seems like it was only yesterday when we welcomed our Littlest Farmer into the family. And now, the time is drawing near when I must return to work and leave my Littlest Farmer in the hands of daycare.

In light of this and the fact that my Oldest and Middle Little Farmers will be on break after today, I will most likely take a step back from the this little space of mine for the remainder of the year. I want to soak up this time with my family and myself without pressure from the blog. By all means, the pressure I speak of is self imposed, but nevertheless it is there. I plan to stay active on Instagram, so I hope you’ll follow along if you’re not already.

I will close 2017 with a post of my favorites from the week - short and sweet style since it’s really Thursday night still and way past my bedtime.

1 << My Little Farmers and I just finished stuffing a grand total of 36 treat bags for their friends and putting together gift bags for 5 teachers and 1 bus driver. A couple of years ago, I started getting the teachers ornaments from a gift shop in the mall. They are incredibly adorable and way more affordable than say the gift card route.

2 << Our Christmas cards went out on Monday. I’m getting tons of compliments on them. I wish I could share them here, but one of my boundaries is not sharing pictures of my children on the blog. My biggest time saver this year was the glue stick hack. So much easier and way less messier than wetting a sponge or paper towel or even licking the envelopes!

3 << Jack found his way under the tree this week. He hijacked my Middle Little Farmer’s train track and engine. What’s funny is that my Middle Little Farmer was not happy at all. He was actually quite aggravated at Jack for taking his red engine.

4 << I managed to start and finish my Christmas shopping in less than 24 hours this week. I did major damage at TJ Maxx and then finished up on Amazon. Before I got my shop on, I inhaled this chocolate chip bagel with honey walnut cream cheese from Panera. So delicious.

5 << We were able to get in a library run this week as well. A lot of books I’ve been waiting on came available all at once, so the hard part now is choosing which to start first. I’m leaning towards Before We Were Yours or Winter Street. I did finish Summer of Secrets by Nancy Thayer. It was just okay. I wonder if it didn’t have a prayer since it had to follow It Ends With Us by Colleen Hoover.

6 << A friend from church had this dress on one Sunday, and I loved it so much I got one of my own. Thankfully, it was majorly on sale cyber Monday and right now it's only $15! I paired it with navy leggings from Old Navy and brown boots.

Well friends, that’s my week in a nutshell. I must say, it’s been a very productive one. Now, I’ll move on to binge watching The Crown and Hallmark Christmas Movies, reading all these new books, and soaking up as much family and home time as I can.

I hope all of you have the Merriest of Christmases and the Happiest of New Years! Love to you all!

  2. Doesn't it feel good to get those Christmas cards out?!?! Enjoy the rest of the year OFF with your family, especially before you have to head back to work. It goes so fast... our baby is 6-months on Monday and that makes me want to cry!!!

  4. Aww, I hope you enjoy these last few weeks of 2017 and soak up every minute with your kiddos. That's what's most important. Panera has the best bagels. Of course my fav is Cinnamon Crunch which is honestly more like a pastry and has a ton of calories. Oh to be young and able to metabolize all the carbs...lol. Your dress looks darling!!! Merry Christmas Trista!!! XOXO
