friday favorites: hello december

Welcome to December, Lovelies! Bring on all the Christmas spirit, family gatherings, Christmas music, Hallmark movies and snow. As thrilled as I am for all that the month of December brings, I do hold a bittersweet corner in my heart this round since it also means that I'm down to the last few weeks home with my Little Farmers. But let's not think about that. Instead, let's chat about my favorites from the last couple of weeks.

1 << I insist on waiting until after Thanksgiving to decorate for Christmas. By Friday afternoon, our tree was up and my two oldest little farmers were super proud of their assistance in trimming the tree. They do not need to know that I did some rearranging when they went outside afterwards. I love Christmas trees and the lights just make everything so cozy. I am also pretty excited about the small one I purchased at 75% off last year after Christmas. I placed it on our front porch. We're too lazy to do lights and I couldn't trust our dog not to eat one of those light show boxes, so I believe this will work perfectly.

2 << Kroger Clicklist finally arrived in our area! Talk about a time saver... and a sanity saver. Walking through the grocery store with one to three children is not an easy feat. Quite stressful actually. You mamas that make it look so easy, what is your secret?! Anyway, I ordered my groceries online one day last week and chose my pick up time for the following day. One thing I loved was the ability to add to the order as I remembered things later in the day. I did that twice. On pick up day, I pulled in, used my cell phone to call the number on the sign, told them the # of the spot I was in, and then my groceries were being wheeled out and loaded by the nicest lady EVER. I didn't get a chance to tip her because she closed my trunk and scurried off, almost like she was avoiding that possibility altogether. So, I pose the question... do you tip your personal grocery shopper???

3 << I'm pretty excited about our new ride. We outgrew our current non-third row SUV with the arrival of our Littlest Farmer. We've been putting off purchasing a vehicle for as long as feasibly possible, but the time had come and the right car came up for sale - that's God. I'm not used to bells and whistles, so even though this baby is used, it is new and exciting for me. Can I get an Amen! for heated seats and remote start?!

4 << I don't think I've shared before that my sister-in-law is expecting in January. I am beyond excited for this little girl to join our family. We need a little princess for sure and clearly, I'm only good for princes. Anyway, we had a shower for her last weekend and it was wonderful to see her get so much of what she needed. The theme was little pink piggies and it couldn't have been more adorable. So much so, that I cried. And then I cried again when she shared some recent ultrasound photos. Shouldn't my hormones be in check by now? Or does number three permanently put you in an emotional imbalance? Eek!

5 << I am still reeling from the amazing opportunity to collaborate with one of my favorite companies, Erin Condren. You all KNOW that I am a huge fan of EC planners and stickers. Well, I received a big box of goodies a few days ago and have absolutely loved playing with all of the awesome products inside. I shared a review of all the products that were in my box earlier in the week. PLUS, there's a giveaway going on through the 6th. So, head over and enter to win a new 2018 LifePLanner! And tell your friends.

6 << To all new mamas and mamas to be: get yourself a copy of Babywise. I promise you won't regret it. I referenced this just yesterday and thought about how grateful I am for this book and the principles that are inside. I did not follow the entire thing to a T with any of my little farmers, but I have definitely implemented the main concepts and principles... and sleep better as a result.

7 << And that's another BIG favorite - my Littlest Farmer is sleeping through the night! At about the 10 week mark, he dropped that last nightly feed. He's going to bed around 9:00 or 10:00 and waking sometime between 6:30 and 7:30. I forgot what a full night's sleep will do for you. It's seriously been so long since I've had one.

Well, I think it's fair to say that I've had caffeine while writing this post. That or I haven't shared anything with you in awhile. I suppose it's both. We've got a big weekend planned. First basketball game of the season for my oldest Little Farmer, Santa is coming to mommy's work, and a baby shower for a friend from church. Did I mention I'm in charge of the games?! No worries, it's going to be so much fun!

  1. Oh I loved Babywise too. Like you, I did't follow everything to a T but I found a few things in there really helpful. My youngest is 4 now so what I found to be helpful is getting a little fuzzy but I do remember it being helpful. That and I also loved Healthy Sleep Habits, Happy Child. Have a great weekend!

  2. Congrats on the new, used car. Like you, we've been putting off getting a new (or used) car since the one I drive is paid for. I've never tried the personal shopping grocery store service. Most stores near us do it, but since I'm home and the kids are in school, I can go when it's not crowded. I definitely see the benefits of using a service like that though when you have small children! We decorate for Christmas after Thanksgiving as well. I was surprised at how many houses near us had their lights up before Thanksgiving! Have a great weekend!

  5. I don't know about Kroger, but a lot of business don't allow tipping, so maybe that is the case? Anyways, it never hurts to ask them. And congrats on the new car! It looks pretty nice!

  9. Congratulations on your new car!! I LOVE Kroger Clicklist!! I use it all the time!! I sadly never thought to tip them because like you said they leave so quickly. A friend of mine asked if she could tip them and they told her they weren't allowed to accept a tip. Although next time she went back the guy looked around to make sure no one was watching and accepted a tip, so I don't know! Haha

  12. Heated seats are the bomb! Your new ride is beautiful. Your tree looks lovely and score the one you got last year on clearance. So happy to hear baby Farmer is sleeping all the way through the night. It's totally amazing what a full nights sleep will do for you. Your hormones will work their way back to normal eventually. I get all teary eyed at sweet things like baby showers too. 💕 Happy weekend! Oh, and you have every reason to be pumped about your collab with EC...Wish I'd get something like that!😊

  13. Little pink piggies? Um that is an elephant LOL! I laughed over that (sleep deprivation probably) so hard. I had that book after my first was born but never read it. She was too easy of a baby. I was very blessed and very aware! Jealous of the new ride! I'm going to try to go another year without buying one because I'm a tightwad who has a legitament issue LOL! xoxoxoxoxoxox
