four reasons why i love my dockatot

Disclosure: I received product compliments of DockATot.

Attention all expectant mamas and mamas with children under the age of three. I want to introduce you to your new best friend - the DockATot.

I first learned of the DockATot a few months ago while reading a friend's blog and was immediately intrigued. I was even more excited to have the opportunity to collaborate with DockATot and find out for myself whether this product is really as amazing as they say. I started using the Dock when my Littlest Farmer was approximately ten weeks old.

As a mother of three, I am well aware that every baby is different and so are their sleep tendencies. My oldest Little Farmer is seven and was a wonderful sleeper from the beginning. He began sleeping all night from an early age and still, to this day rarely wakes at night. My middle Little Farmer was the complete opposite. Once he outgrew his swaddle, which was around six months, he awoke almost every night. We eventually committed the huge no-no of letting him sleep with us just so we could get a full night's rest. We didn't officially break that habit until he was around 2.5 and I was pregnant with our Littlest Farmer.

Our newest Little Farmer falls somewhere in between. He starts out in his crib, but at some point during the night gets a little restless. He is soothed with a pacifier but it usually takes a few times to do the trick. I'm guilty of placing him in bed with me just to get some sleep. However, when doing this, my sleep wasn't solid and my arm would be in a kink by morning. That's when the DockATot became my new best friend. Here's why and three other reasons why I love my Dock.

ONE - My Littlest Farmer began sleeping completely through the night around nine weeks old. We put him to bed in his crib anywhere between 8:30 and 9:30 pm. He falls asleep on his own and awakes sometime between 1:00 and 4:00 am. When he begins to stir, I sit the Dock in the middle of our bed between my Farmer and I. I then place my swaddled Littlest Farmer inside. He is soothed with his pacifier and the snugness of the Dock, which was created to mimic the womb. I don't mind co-sleeping with him since I feel that he is safe. I also love that if he needs his pacifier more than once, I barely have to wake up to give it to him. I know that I get a full night's rest because of the DockATot.

TWO - For the time being, the crib is in our room and most likely will be until my Littlest Farmer is around six months. My older Little Farmers share a bedroom and theirs is the only room on one side of ours. On the opposite side is the rest of the house. My middle Little Farmer has one of those voices that can wake the dead. So when the Littlest Farmer is napping and his older brother is playing, he is often disturbed by the middle Little Farmer's playtime. The DockATot has eliminated my constant nagging of the middle Little Farmer to play quietly. I now place my Littlest Farmer in the boys' bedroom - the furthest room from where anyone is playing or watching television. He gets solid naps and is much less cranky as a result.

THREE - The DockATot is so easy to transport from room to room. Plus, my Littlest Farmer is never directly on the floor. He can hang out in the kitchen while I cook, look at the lights in the bathroom while I shower, spend time on his tummy in comfort, stare in awe at the lights on the Christmas tree, and nap wherever is most convenient. There are handles all around the DockATot so that when I'm carrying him in one arm, it's super easy for me to grab and carry the Dock in the other. When we're traveling this Christmas, we can pack up the Dock and he can nap comfortably wherever we may be.

FOUR - I can clean the DockATot easily. My Littlest Farmer spits up a lot, so the fact that I can wash the cover and care for the pad without much effort is a huge benefit.

In a nutshell, the DockATot just makes life a little easier. It comes in two sizes: Deluxe (0-8 Months) and Grand (9-36 Months) and in several different colors and designs. I mentioned earlier that my Littlest Farmer was ten weeks old before we started using the Dock. I would have loved to have had this from week one. I encourage you to stop by their website and explore all that the DockATot has to offer. By using this link, you'll receive $10 off all Docks.

I would love to hear your thoughts. Do you have a Dock? Do you love it? If not, do you want one?
