friday favorites: bonfires, cookie dough and shoes

Happy Friday, Friends!

I know I've been a little scarce lately. I have no explanation other than I am just not feeling inspired lately.  I'll work on it, promise. In the meantime, I'll continue to link up with some lovely ladies and share my favorites from the week.

1 >> We celebrated my oldest Little Farmer's birthday last weekend with a bonfire. We roasted hot dogs, made smores and enjoyed birthday cake. It was pretty cold, but the fire was wonderful. We all had the best time.

2 >> I picked up these Ja-Vie flats a few weeks ago during one of their flash sales. I was very pregnant at the time, so I couldn't wear them yet. On Sunday, my black and white outfit was screaming their name. They are so comfy and this style is so classy. I just love them.

3 >> I made homemade cookie dough this week. It's been years since I last made it. My Farmer and I love the dough more than the actual cookies. We've had both though, and they are scrumptious.

4 >> My middle Little Farmer has been under the weather for the last several days. He's really struggling with a burst ear drum. He's basically got a steady drip of drainage coming from his ear. We've seen both our pediatrician and ENT. If the meds do not work soon, he may end up having a second set of tubes. He's been a real trooper through it all.

5 >> Family project time for school. We were asked to decorate this turkey and could use whatever we liked. I have to admit this awesome turkey is mostly thanks to my Farmer and my oldest Little Farmer. Didn't they do a great job? The feathers were my doing, though. Ha!

6 >> I received my Harvest VoxBox from Influenster this week and I am super excited to try out these complimentary products. If you're interested in joining the community, head over here. It's a lot of fun and did I mention you get free stuff?! All you need to do is review and share your experience.

7 >> Anyone else watch NCIS? This is my absolute favorite show and they are killing it this season. I also need to finish the first season of The Crown. The second season is coming out next month and I want to be ready. Oh, and my kids are currently obsessed with the Netflix series Spirit. They have watched the first two seasons several times. The third season was released today and they are stoked to have new episodes.

Well Friends, that about sums up the week for me. We have a busy weekend ahead. My Littlest Farmer has a checkup today, I'm sure he'll get shots. We have a Mickey Mouse birthday party to attend on Saturday. We're also going to attempt family pictures on Sunday after church. That means I need to coordinate outfits for five people. Eek!

Have wonderful weekends!

  1. A bonfire sounds like a perfect way to celebrate a fall birthday! I'm all about the S'mores! I have not made cookies, or cookie dough in forever. Do you know there's a shop in NYC called Do that sells ready-to-eat cookie dough in cones/bowls, etc. with toppings?! Haven't been there yet, but it's on my list! That looks like a fun voxbox. I love trying products through Influenster. Have a great weekend!

  5. I hope he feels better soon! My son ruptured his eardrum back in August and it's not fun! That bonfire sounds fun though. I never think to do things like that this time of year, but that's a great idea.
