table for five

Happy Friday, Friends! I hope this week has treated you well. Even more, I hope the last month has been good to you.

I managed to churn out a post on Monday for the TBB Asks monthly link up, but other than that, I haven't posted since the morning of Little Baby's arrival. So, this Friday's post of favorites will be a highlight reel of the last month beginning with the ultimate of favorites... Little Baby.

Little Baby arrived the first week of September and surprised us all as a boy! In case you're new around here or do not remember, we do not find out the baby's gender until he or she arrives. We've done this with all three kids. Our first two are both boys, so most of us were leaning towards girl for number three. This is why I absolutely love not finding out - what a surprise! I have three perfect sons, can you believe it?! I hope to share his birth story soon. Thank you for all the thoughts and prayers. Everything went very well.

My first day of school as a parent of three started off with a bang. My oldest catches the school bus around 6:30 in the morning. I was not allowed to drive yet and my husband left for work long before that. So, when I awoke a few minutes before 7, I hit the panic mode. We overslept. I thought I had set my alarm for a little after 6, but somewhere in the night I must have turned it off? How was I going to get him to school?! I was considering driving when God intervened and gave me the idea to ask our neighbor who takes her son to school each day and who would be driving by shortly. I caught her right as she was walking out the door and she graciously saved the day by taking him to school!

We celebrated our 10th anniversary at the end of September. Ten years. Wow. Time seriously does go by in the blink of an eye, doesn't it? My Farmer surprised me with two dozen chocolate covered strawberries, apples and bananas. He knows me so well - I was in chocolate covered fruit bliss. As I look back on the past ten years and consider all of our blessings, I realize I can't even begin to count them. God has been so abundantly good to us even though we haven't been nearly as faithful to Him as He has been to us. I'm truly humbled by His never ending love and mercy.

Can we talk about how happy I am to have my ankles back? Or how I didn't even realize just how small they really are since I haven't seen them for months? They were swollen before Baby arrived and then they broke records afterwards. With all of my pregnancies, it's taken at least a couple of weeks for the swelling to subside. And every time I've wondered how they could possibly be so huge. I do think it was worse this time because there was no putting my feet up. I had two others to chase after this round.

Do you remember the pajamas I ordered a few weeks back for nursing? Can I just say these are the absolute most amazing pajamas EVER. They are so awesome that I ordered two more pair. I am totally spending my maternity leave in these.

So, I totally missed my two year blogiversary. I didn't even think about it until I saw another blogger post about theirs. I then wondered when mine was. I wrote my first post on August 19th, 2015. I'll have to remember that in the future. I have been keeping a close eye on the number of posts I've shared since I am nearing 100. I'm planning a giveaway once I get there! So, stay tuned.

In my quest to keep Little Baby out of the public and away from germs, I dipped my toes in online grocery shopping for the non-fresh type items. I've tried my hand at Walmart and Amazon Prime Pantry. I even compared the two in pricing. 99% of the time, the items were the same price or within a couple of cents. With Walmart, the shipping was free as long as you spent $35. With Prime Pantry, I had to pay a flat fee of $5.99. This is in addition to the $99 annual subscription fee to even have Prime. I did notice that Walmart had some items that we regularly purchase when Amazon did not and vice versa.

Well, I survived the week! I consider this a big accomplishment since my oldest was on fall break and that meant I had all three at home, all day, every day. The boys would go from playing peacefully together to pushing each other down and throwing things in a nanosecond. And if I tried to take a nap while the baby was sleeping, someone would wake me for a snack or a drink. But I showered every day and we played a lot of Connect 4 and Guess Who. I even managed to start reading a book from my library haul and do some blogging! I'm really hoping to slowly get back into the groove of things.

That's my week, I mean month. If you're still reading (longest post ever), I do appreciate it! Have a wonderful weekend!

  4. Congrats! I feel you on the swelling. My right leg was swollen for about a month after birth. It was...interesting to say the least.

  14. Congratulations on the new baby! I don't think I could wait to find out the gender. I don't really like surprises, even if it's a good one! I always set two alarms because I'm always afraid one won't go off or I'll accidentally turn it off in the night! How lucky you were able to catch your neighbor in time! I used to just buy cheap pajamas from Target or somewhere like that, but I've recently been realizing it is so worth it to spend a little more money for nice pajamas! It's amazing what a difference nice pajamas make! And happy 2 year blogiversary!

  18. Congratulations to you guys on the new addition. We didn't find out what our first was until I delivered, but the Mr wanted to know what we were having the second time around. If we try for a third, I think I'd like to wait to again and be surprised since we kept the majority of both our kids' baby clothes, we have girl and boy clothes. Happy belated wedding and blog anniversary as well.

  19. A month in and you are a pro at being a mama of three! Total perks of another little boy - you can just move the outfits and toys on down the line in your own home - that is a total blessing! Enjoy!

  21. I need to get back to online grocery shopping asap to save my sanity! I didn't know WalMart had it and have to figure that out. I also need to get those PJ's because I am always looking for nursing wear now and it's so hard to find! Can't wait to hear the birth story!!
