getting things done and tbb asks

Well Friends, we are at most a little over four weeks away from meeting this little one, and I am so thankful to report that this weekend was an extremely productive one.

My sweet Mama came down and helped me take on the baby prep list. There's still plenty to do, but the crib is finally in place (no bedding yet) and the minor bathroom overhaul I wanted to do is complete (even if it turned out to be anything but minor).

I mentioned on Friday that our kitchen is being remodeled - the contractors worked on Saturday and we are super close to it being fully functional. When it's complete, I'll share my new cooking domain and my experience with remodeling. There have definitely been some ups and downs.

As for the bathroom, I spent Saturday morning at Lowe's and Walmart pulling together my vision. I only knew I wanted a fresh coat of white paint and to organize and add some color. Plus, we needed some new shelving for our towels.

I picked up the paint from Lowe's - plain ole' semi-satin white. The vision started to form with the set of bath rugs I found at Walmart. They are white with a watermelon colored design. I then picked up a somewhat matching shower curtain.

As for organization, in the college prep section I found these storage bins for less than $3 a piece - now all our junk is no longer visible to anyone coming and going!

I saw this wood pine crate at Lowe's and picked it up. I wasn't sure what I would do with it at the time, but I plan to paint it a watermelon color and use it as a magazine crate in the bathroom.

And yes, I put this shelving together all by myself. I see now that I may have missed removing some of the stickers. Oops!

I am loving all the colors coming together and the organization, but the fresh coat of white paint made everything so much better.

I saw on IG where The Blended Blog was hosting another question and answer link-up. I love these, so check out my answers below and make sure to join us!

1. Pool, lake or ocean? Ocean for sure. I love the breeze and the waves and enjoying the awesomeness of what God has created.

2. Camping, cottage or hotel? Cottage. All the luxuries with all the privacy.

3. Favorite ice cream flavor? Vanilla most always but when splurging, Rocky Road.

4. PJ's, Nightgown, T-Shirt/Shorts or Birthday suit? T-shirt and capris. I can't handle my thighs touching. I'm a weirdo.

5. Fave Summer Beverage? Lemonade.

6. Would you rather be hot or cold? Cold.

7. Sandals with heels or flats? I wear flats constantly because of work - dress code calls for closed toed shoes. But, I love to wear sandals on the weekend.

8. Shorts or skirts? I love skirts. They are so fun and lots more flattering on me.

9. Sit in the sun or the shade? The shade unless I'm by a body of water like the ocean or the pool.

10. Water, tea or soda? Soda unfortunately. Coke in particular.

11. Fave summer fruit, vegetable? Do I have to pick just one? Green beans, new potatoes, and corn on the cob.

12. Sunrise or sunset? Sunrise.

13. Bike ride or walk? Walk.

14. Winery or brewery? Neither.

15. Garden or no garden? Garden. Even if I haven't been able to work on it this summer as much as I would have liked.

16. Big summer concert or music in the park? Neither.

17. Fave cookout food? Hot dogs.

18. Dine indoors or patio? Patio if the bugs are at bay.

19. Fave summer destination? The beach - Isle of Palms, SC in particular.

20. Big theme park or local carnival? Big theme park. Local carnivals make me somewhat nervous. How can they set something up and take it down time and time again and it stay safe?

21. Drinks blended or on the rocks? Neither since I don't drink. I really only know the difference because of movies and television.

22. Popsicle or freezie flavor of choice? I like the pink ones - I think those are watermelon. What's so weird is, I don't actually like watermelon, but love watermelon flavored things.

23. Hot Dog or Hamburger? Hot dog.

I am linking up with Biana for Weekending and The Blended Blog for the fun question and answer piece. Hope everyone has a wonderful week!

  2. I am with you on small carnivals. There is no way I'm getting on a "mobile" ride. That's stupid. But there was a time when I did with no care. HA! I'm so glad you are getting so much accomplished! Yay for baby's upcoming arrival. I will be checking in on the social media and here for updates! Since pregnancy is something I will (for sure - no way it can happen again) never experience again it is always exciting to see others welcoming their newest additions and reminds me of my two little deliveries!

  3. Woohoo for getting so much done and crossed off your list. Also, I can't wait to see the kitchen reno. How exciting. I also agree with you about sandals on the weekends and closed toes during the week. I am going to have to start wearing real clothes soon and the shoes might be the worst part of that...Hahahaha! Happy Monday!

  4. The bathroom update looks great! I can't believe you're 4 weeks out! This is so exciting!

  5. Wow, only 4 weeks left. How crazy is that! So exciting. My friend is due in 5 days and we are all going crazy. We can't wait to meet her little one.

  11. I'm using the same kind of storage bins in our baby's room!

  12. I love a good hot dog, but polish sausages are my favorite. I also love lemonade. Especially flavored. I can't believe you don't like watermelon, but you like the icecee flavors. Love reading your answers.

  13. So glad you had a great weekend getting some things done! :) Can't believe your little one will be here in four weeks. You are doing great! Love the bathroom changes and especially the shelving (I didn't find the stickers, though, ha!). Thanks for dropping by my blog today!

  14. New potatoes.

  15. We just visited Isle of Palms two weeks ago and I LOVED it!

  17. I LOVE the color combination of those storage bins. So cute!

  18. I'm so glad someone else chose hot dog over hamburger. For some reason I detest hamburgers, and I'll always choose a hot dog!

  19. Love the bathroom decor and can't wait for the kitchen reveal. I laughed out loud at you not liking your thighs to touch. You feel the same way about watermelon that I feel about bananas. Won't eat the actual fruit, but love banana bread, muffins or pancakes.

  20. What a super productive weekend! Can't wait to hear more about our kitchen remodel. That will be such a relief for it to be done before the new baby arrives!
