friday favorites: diapers, dresses, and dessert

Friends, I am so happy to see Friday. This here mama is dragging. I guess it could be third trimester fatigue OR quite possibly the 3 to 4 times I am up at night to empty my bladder... Plus, I feel like I've officially reached beached whale status when it comes to rolling over in bed - I swear there is a serious art to the process of getting comfortable while in your 9th month of pregnancy. Okay, enough of that! Let's move on and chat about a few of my favorites from the week!

ONE
My dear sweet co-workers threw me a surprise baby shower on Monday. I had absolutely NO idea it was coming. I was running late to our weekly staff meeting when I opened the door and found a room full of wonderful people, presents, and cake! This lady right here... is blessed beyond all measure.

TWO
On Tuesday, my sweet mama and I met for lunch at a local cafe. We splurged on dessert and it was Ah-mazing. I was a little sad we had opted to share because I'm pretty sure I could have devoured the entire thing on my own.

THREE
I mentioned last Friday that I needed to find a dress for a work event on Wednesday. The dresses I ordered from Motherhood Maternity came in on Tuesday and I tried them all on. If you follow me on IG, I posted the photo below and begged for advice.

The only one I did not love at all was the floral print. The first blue one was pretty, but not very flattering. The striped one was gorgeous, but wrong for the event. I needed simple, professional, and comfortable. It was down to the two navy dresses - the one on the far right had gold speckles all through it and the sleeves were lace. It was so pretty, but I ended up axing it based on the fact that it seemed more for a good time as opposed to a professional outing.

I am so sad to report that it was such a hectic day, I didn't get a single photo of me in the dress at the event. What kind of blogger am I?

FOUR
Did you happen to notice the flats in the photo above? These Tommy Hilfiger Primrose Ballet Flats may be my most favorite part - quite possibly because I can continue wearing them post-baby, but I think they're basically just gorgeous. I picked them up on Amazon and had them here in two days with Prime shipping.

FIVE
My sister-in-law shared this during the week and I thought it was perfect. I have to admit, it's pretty accurate when it comes to describing me...

SIX
ICYMI, I had a little fun earlier in the week answering a few old wives' tales as to whether Little Baby is a boy or a girl.

I did have a doctor's appointment on Thursday and to my surprise, I'm making no progress towards labor at all. I would have thought for sure all these braxton hicks were doing something - wrong! I have three weeks to go unless Little Baby decides to make an early arrival.

Well, that about sums up the week for me. I'm hoping to get in a whole lot of rest this weekend. Maybe make this peach cobbler again and get back to reading My (Not So) Perfect Life by Sophie Kinsella.

Hope you have a fabulous weekend!

  4. Awe surprise baby showers are the BEST! I had one with my first and I just cried the whole time (I was 9 months too.) Glad you solved that dress dilemma. Those shoes are so cute. And at nine months along never share dessert. Sleep as best as you can mama. Do you have a recliner? That saved me. xoxox
